Fuel
Fuel is simply what the fire burns. Vegetation, dead trees, annual grasses, and other brush are good examples. A combination of factors have allowed our forests to grow thick with a highly congested understory that should be cleared out regularly to allow for a healthier, more Fire resistant environment.
Hazard Trees
Hazard Trees can be any tree that poses a threat to people or property. A tree may be hazardous if it’s showing signs of disease, excessive browning of leaves or needles, dead branches, open wounds that aren’t healing. Or it may be hazardous if its too close to a home, it may be leaning dangerously over a roof or driveway and can be removed for insurance purposes or just peace of mind.
